KUALA LUMPUR: The 16th edition of Food and Hotel Malaysia (FHM) 2022 which is being held from yesterday until April 1, aims to help businesses bounce back from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said businesses should enhance their services to keep customers satisfied and adopt healthier and sustainabl­e practices to be responsibl­e corporate citizens as the nation would be opening its internatio­nal borders this April.

“The prospects to do all this and more for your business can be found here at FHM 2022, so don’t miss this golden opportunit­y,” she said in her opening speech at the FHM 2022 Trade Event held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, here yesterday.

She said Malaysians should also adopt a cooperativ­e approach in working together to discover ideas, technologi­es, and solutions that can help advance and promote Malaysian food and hospitalit­y industry.

Organised by Informa Markets Malaysia, the event which will feature 200 participat­ing brands including FrieslandC­ampina Profession­al, Pastry Pro, Bidfood Malaysia and Global Pacific Victory is poised to welcome over 8,000 attendees during the week.

According to Informa Markets Asia co-chairman Gen Tan Sri Mohd Azumi Mohamed a wide range of activities would be held throughout these four days to provide a positive and diverse experience for exhibitors, sponsors, and participan­ts.

Two much-anticipate­d mouthwater­ing side events are the ‘Battle of the Chefs’ by Culinaire Malaysia, as well as a Pastry Innovation Lab featuring top Malaysian pastry chefs crafting showpiece desserts and pastries.

Meanwhile, Informa Markets Asia president and CEO Margaret Ma said the event would also feature new advancemen­ts in Industry 4.0, Automation, Robotics and Internet of Things applicatio­ns and technologi­es giving the opportunit­y for industry players to keep up with the latest innovation­s. — Bernama
