Under the executive commi ee, three others who had been appointed were Sim Chiap Hin as assistant secretary 1, Gabrielle Lim as assistant secretary 2 and Michelle Liou as assistant treasurer.

Meanwhile, the elected five commi ee members were Petrus Alfred, Liew Kim Phiaw, Joanne Lau, Anthony Roseli Anak Ripen and Abyana Virginia Latif.

The commi ee had also appointed Sim See Hong as their auditor for this year.

Founded in 1985, SAS hopes to contribute towards the growing arts and creative movement in the state; promote local artistic talents, connect emerging talents with senior established artists in the state and raise awareness among the public the importance of preserving and appreciating arts and culture.

Although SAS has put on hold most of its physical exhibitions and activities since 2020 where the pandemic has impacted almost all the industries, SAS has successfully switched some of the activities to be held online such as commi ee meetings and art talks.

In 2021, SAS held ‘Seni Jantung Hatiku’ art exhibition at the Sarawak Heart Centre and is pleased to announce that the exhibition will be an on-going collaborative project with the centre.

Now that the state is in the endemic phase of Covid-19, SAS has made plans to rejuvenate the society by hosting more activities for 2022.

Art lovers are encouraged to check out the society’s new website h ps://sarawakartists. com for news and updates.
