Calling shuttlers for Sarawak Energy Cup 2022

KUCHING: Shuttlers can look forward to more than RM20,000 worth of prize money for the much-anticipated Sarawak Energy Cup 2022 to be held on May 20 at Sarawak Badminton Association Hall here.

In a press statement, Sarawak Energy said the inter-team tournament will be played on a group league system in the first round followed by single knockout system with semi-finals and the final play-off.

There are five matches per tie including Men’s Doubles Open, Novice Men’s Doubles, Combined Age 90 yrs old (ages 35 and above), Men’s Doubles Open and Veteran Men’s Doubles.

The Sarawak Energy Cup winners will take home RM8,000, the runners-up will receive RM4,000 while losing semi-finalists will collect RM2,000 each.

Winners of the Sarawak Energy Shield will bag RM2,000, runners-up RM1,000 and losing semi-finalists RM500 each. The Sarawak Energy Plate winners will pocket RM500 with the runners-up taking RM300.

Closing date for registration is by 12pm on May 11. The draw for fixture will be conducted at 11am on May 18 at Sarawak Badminton Association Hall.
