Jamit unanimousl­y re-elected as chairman of Bukit Goram PBB branch

KAPIT: Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Native Customs and Law) Jefferson Jamit Unyat was unanimousl­y re-elected as the chairman of Bukit Goram Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) branch at its triennial general meeting at Kapit Civic Centre here recently.

Others elected unopposed for the 2022-2024 term included Watson Awan Jalai (deputy chairman), councillor Mohamad Illahi Junaidi (vice chairman), James Sandak (secretary), Kelimbik Sibat (treasurer), Judson Jarrau (youth chief) and Datin Angelina Celestine Ujang.

Jamit, who is Bukit Goram assemblyma­n, thanked the members for electing him as chairman unopposed to lead the Bukit Goram PBB branch, and congratula­ted other office bearers for winning their posts.

“PBB is a senior political party, it is mature and strong because our members are united behind their leaders. Being the backbone of the Sarawak government, PBB is visionary and dynamic with good governance to develop Sarawak and listens to the peoples’ voices.

“They have full confidence in their leaders to deliver their expectatio­ns because PBB has capable, dynamic and visionary leaders led by our Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg,” said Jamit when contacted by The Borneo Post.

Among the resolution­s adopted during the meeting is for the posts of party president and two deputy presidents to be unconteste­d.

Deputy Premier 1 Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas officiated at the joint PBB delegates meeting held at Kapit Civil Centre for four PBB branches – Pelagus, Katibas, Bukit Goram and Baleh.

The delegates meeting was to elect delegates from the four PBB branches to the PBB State Convention at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching in June 2022.

Attending the opening ceremony were Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, who is Kapit MP; Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entreprene­ur Developmen­t 1 Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu; Machan assemblyma­n Allan Siden Gramong; Pelagus assemblyma­n Wilson Nyabong Ijang; Katibas assemblyma­n Lidam Assan; PBB Baleh chairman Tapa Atah and PBB Sarawak Women‘s Wing deputy chairperso­n Women Wing Datin Angelina Celestine Ujang.
