National badminton legends to arrive in Miri for forum
MIRI: The much anticipated ‘Forum with the Legends 2022’, an event comprising badminton talks and sharing, will take place from May 20 to 22.
The three-day event will kick off with an opening ceremony at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall at 2pm followed by a welcoming and appreciation dinner at Level 5, Imperial Hotel Grand Ballroom from 6pm.
On the second day, two talks will be conducted by Dr Ong Kong Swee and Datuk Anthony Linggian.
Dr Ong, who was the former chief executive officer of Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC), will speak on ‘Education and Physical Sports Science’ between 9am to 11am.
Datuk Anthony Linggian, who is an umpire instructor, will speak on ‘Referee and Umpire’ from 2pm to 4pm.
Both talks are limited to 70 pax with packed tea breaks for participants.
A training clinic session will be held from 6pm to 8pm at Ting Sports Miri which is limited to 100 pax only.
On Sunday, all the legends comprising former Malaysian shuttlers including Razif Ridek, Koo Kien Keat and Ho Yen Mei will join Dr Ong Kong Swee and Datuk Anthony Linggian in a sharing session at Level 5, Imperial Grand Ballroom from 9am to 12pm.
This session will be limited to 250 pax with packed tea breaks.
The legends will be sharing their experiences and their ups and downs.
After the session, a special interaction session will be held at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall.
Interested participants can register with Miri Badminton Association with registration fees of RM50 (inclusive one dinner) or RM20 (without dinner).
