Mid-afternoon fire badly damages coffee shop
SIBU: A double-storey building accommodating a coffee shop at Mile 8, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman here was badly razed in a fire yesterday.
According to the statement from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, a distress call on the incident was received around 4.40pm.
Ten firemen from the Sungai Merah station were immediately deployed to the scene, assisted by nine personnel from Sibu Central fire station, it said.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
Bomba estimated the damage to the premises at 70 per cent.
