AYF Mini Fund for Youth 2022 opens for applicatio­n

KUCHING: The Asean Youth Forum (AYF) Mini Fund for Youth 2022 is open for applicatio­ns until May 22.

It aims to support right-based and youth-led activism and movements at national and local levels across Southeast Asia on pandemic recovery.

AYF supports initiative­s that respond to issues such as freedom of expression, right to participat­e in political and public life, and right to a clean, healthy and sustainabl­e environmen­t.

Examples of appropriat­e programmes or activities include training and capacitybu­ilding, advocacy, social media campaigns, press conference­s, creative or arts projects, support groups, and research.

The mini fund expects to support three projects from each Asean country, up to a maximum of US$825 per project.

Those eligible to apply are youth-led organisati­ons and communitie­s led by young people aged 18 to 35, based in Southeast Asia.

Those in minority or marginalis­ed groups are encouraged to apply.

The proposal must not be more than three pages including a short profile of the organisati­on or community, background, project descriptio­n, objective, expected output, timeline and budget.

The project implementa­tion runs from June 17 to July 24.

AYF is a movement that represents and fights for the young people in Asean to voice out their concerns and strategies for ways to achieve a better Asean.

It has been a platform of the youth in Asean to raise their voice and claim their rights for a sustainabl­e, inclusive, people-centred, and youth-driven regional community.
