School bids farewell to long-serving teacher
KAPIT: SJKC Hock Lam bade farewell to a long-serving teacher who is transferring to Kuching on May 9.
Boon Yian Mee, who has served at the school for the past 26 years, is moving to SJKC Chung Hua at KM4 Kuching-Serian Road. Her husband, Lau Yuck Huck, formerly SMK Baleh principal, is currently attached to the State Education Department in Kuching.
In recognition of her dedicated service, SJKC Hock Lam headmaster Wong Siew Ching, on behalf of the school management board, presented Boon with a souvenir in the form of a gold medallion and wished her all the best at her new school.
“I hope she continues to serve with full dedication and commitment in educating the young,” he said.
