FSJA invites Deputy Premier to KJA 2022 ceremony

MIRI: The Federation of Sarawak Journalist­s Associatio­n (FSJA) paid a courtesy visit to Sarawak Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian at his office on July 14.

The FSJA delegation headed by FSJA president Andy Jong Wan Joon presented an invitation letter to Dr Sim to attend the Kenyalang Journalism Awards (KJA) 2022 ceremony which will be held in Miri in December this year.

At the meeting, the Deputy Premier pledged a contributi­on to KJA as he had done in previous years, in support of local media.

KJA 2022 which is open for registrati­on is accepting online entry submission­s. The valid entries are publicatio­ns between Sept 1, 2021 and August 31, 2022.

Overall, a total of RM250,000 in cash prizes are up for grabs in various categories for Bahasa Malaysia, English, Chinese and Iban languages.

Since 2015, Sarawak government has been the main sponsor of the award ceremony, alongside other gold sponsors; namely Shell, Petronas and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) who each contribute­d RM50,000 to the award.

The award ceremony to be held at Imperial Hotel on Dec 9, will be graced by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
