SERDANG: The National Farmers Organisation (Nafas) has launched two compound fertilisers, ‘Baja Sebatian 65’ and ‘Baja Sebatian 45’ under the Peladang brand to meet the needs of household crops.

Deputy Agriculture and Food Industries Minister I Datuk Seri Ahmad Hamzah said the fertilizers, which cost as low as RM10 a bottle, are produced by Nafas subsidiary Nafas Bajakimia Sdn Bhd (NBKSB), through the steam granulation process and contain the main nutrient requirements.

“Baja Sebatian 65 and 45 are fertilisers that encourage the production of quality flowers and fruits, as well as help tree trunks to become strong and increase active root growth, he said.

He said this to reporters after the product launch ceremony in conjunction with the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (Maha) 2022 yesterday.

He said the fertilisers produced by Nafas have been certified and accredited with ISO 9001:2008, Standards Malaysia Accredited Laboratory (2006) and also Sirim.

“The fertiliser product has been recognised and has received Sirim certificates and so on.

In fact, this fertiliser is one of the best fertilisers produced by Nafas,” he said.

He also said the products can be found in the Farmers’ Association (PP) network of stores as well as selected shops throughout Malaysia in addition to online sales platforms like Shopee.

During the event, Ahmad and Nafas board of directors chairman Datuk Zamri Yaakob also helped to promote the ‘Happy Hour’ sale which offered two bottles of fertiliser compound 65 and 45 for RM10 and a one kilogramme pack of frozen chicken for RM5 a pack.

As a result of the ‘Happy Hour’ sale, 20 bottles of fertilisers and 30 packs of frozen chicken were sold.
