MPI’s Bachelor of Early Childhood Education Aug 20 intake still open
SIBU: The Aug 20 intake for Methodist Pilley Institute’s (MPI) Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Hons) (BECE) is still open for registration.
In a press release, MPI said the programme for professional preparation of early childhood educators and careers is spiral and integrated in scope and content, beginning with a broad base, progressively becoming learning-outcome based, and finally links school achievement with society and home.
“Students acquire knowledge and understanding of foundation of early childhood education, young children’s curriculum, contemporary societal issues and trends linking home, school, and society.
“Graduates are academically and professionally competent with national and international recognition for admission to postgraduate study.
“The programme adheres with Early Childhood Education Principles and practice including 16 weeks teaching practicum and independent inquiry,” it stated.
Esther Ha from Catholic High School here said she chose early childhood education as she likes children and personally believes childhood experience and education affect children for life.
“I chose BECE at MPI because it gives students the opportunity to work in kindergartens while pursuing the degree. Practical experience helps me better understand what is taught by the lecturers,” she added.
Entry requirement for BECE is minimum 2Cs in STPM, 5Bs in UEC or equivalent diploma / Foundation / Matriculation with minimum CGPA 2.00.
