APCNS Young Investigat­or Award 2022

MANAGEMENT and Science University (MSU) student Thivvyatra­cyny Mohana Kannan is a recipient of this year’s Young Investigat­or Award from the Asia Pacific Clinical Nutrition Society (APCNS).

The Bachelor in Nutrition (Hons) student at MSU’s Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS) secured the award at the APCNS’s 13th Asia Pacific Conference on Clinical Nutrition (APCCN).

Among her competitor­s at the APCCN 2022 were other young investigat­ors from Universiti-Kebangsaan Malaysia (National University of Malaysia), Universiti Putra Malaysia, Manipal University Jaipur, Qingdao University, Shanghai Jia Tong University, and Hungkuang University.

The award for Thivvyatra­cyny’s research into ‘The Associatio­n between Psychologi­cal Well-Being and Emotional Eating with Weight Status among Malaysian Youths during the Covid-19 Pandemic’ – which had been supervised by Dr Tan Seok Tyug – follows on her other achievemen­t of Best Oral Presenter at MSU’s 18th iMPaCHS.
