Lee: GPS delivers its promises, continue to rally behind us

MIRI: The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government has done well in delivering its promises such as the implementation of five per cent sales tax on petroleum products, said Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin.

“By imposing this tax, the state government was able to collect billions of ringgit, which will be used to help the rakyat,” he said.

Thus, he urged Sarawakians to be united and support GPS in the 15th General Election (GE15) so its candidates can represent Sarawak in Parliament and fight for its rights.

“We need the mandate from the people so we can continue the fight at the federal level,” he said in his speech at the Miri Wu Clan Association’s luncheon and senior citizen gathering yesterday.

Lee also expressed his gratitude for the people’s support in the state election last year which saw GPS and SUPP winning the seats in Piasau, Pujut and Senadin.

“By winning the parliamentary seats (in GE15), I am confident the team will be complete and we can do more for the people of Miri,” he said.

Also present at the event were Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting, GPS Miri candidate Cr Jeffrey Phang and the association’s chairman Christopher Goh.
