Ling all out to ensure PH victory this GE15
MIRI: Although not a candidate in this 15th General Election (GE15), Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak secretary Alan Ling has been actively campaigning for his contesting comrades.
According to Ling, he has been kept busy and on the move – from Miri to Bintulu, Sibu, Sarikei, Papar and Kota Kinabalu – holding talks for PH candidates.
“I have a very packed schedule. Tonight I am leaving for Kuching to hold a talk there,” he said when contacted last Saturday.
Ling, also Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak secretary, said he had gained much experience from previous state and parliamentary elections to explain to the people PH’s struggles and goals for the nation.
“I carry the responsibility as PH Sarawak secretary to help our candidates and to ensure PH’s victory.”
Ling had served as Senator from August 2018 to August 2021 and was Piasau assemblyman from 2011 to 2016.
“Our country is at a crossroad, and so is PH.
“PH must overcome this and return to govern the country. For that, we must ensure PH gets enough seats to form the government,” he said.
Based on analysis, he believed that PH could win over 90 out of the 222 contested parliamentary seats in GE15.
He added that winning seats in Sabah and Sarawak was equally important to help PH form a new government on Nov 19.
