Keluarga Malaysia Sales to carry on, says KPDNHEP

MIRI: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumers Affairs (KPDNHEP) will continue to hold its weekly Keluarga Malaysia Sales Programme at selected supermarke­ts around the city.

Miri KPDNHEP chief Joe Azmi Jamil said eight supermarke­ts throughout Miri are currently taking part in the programme.

“Each supermarke­t will hold the weekly programme in turns to enable consumers in Miri take opportunit­ies to purchase household items at discounted price,” he told reporters when met at the Keluarga Malaysia Sales programme at Everwin Supermarke­t in Tudan, here Saturday.

Also present was Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, who is Senadin assemblyma­n.

According to Lee, the programme under KPDNHEP had listed a total of 30 household essentials to be sold at much cheaper prices at the participat­ing supermarke­t.

“The items include powdered milk, cooking oil, dry food such as rice and noodles, packet drinks, fresh cut chicken, detergent and dish washing liquid, among other essential needs,” he said.

“This programme is carried out to lessen the burden of families within our community.”

Lee also encouraged the public to take the opportunit­y to purchase their household needs during the sales, adding that KPDNHEP Miri will also be giving out advance notice on the programme as well as its location on its Facebook page.

The next Keluarga Malaysia Sales Programme here will take place this Nov 18 at The Fresh Mart, Riam (MDS Mart Miri Sdn Bhd) from 7.30am to 8pm.

Gabungan Parti Sarawak candidate for Miri, councillor Jeffery Phang, who also attended the programme, pledged his full support for the programme to be continued.
