Sibu Heritage Photography Contest records 804 entries
SIBU: A total of 804 photographs were submitted by 82 participants from all over Malaysia in the recent Sibu Heritage Photography Contest 2022.
For the Landscape category, Johnny Tiong Sie Wei’s photograph was the first pick, followed by entries from Martin Sia Bee Ee and Kong Ban Hee.
Tiong Chung Tiing won the People category, while Hii Lu Fang and Ngu Leong Hung won second and third places respectively.
For the Food category, Wong Chen Chen’s entry was declared the winner, followed by Hii Yii Kuong in second and Tiong Chung Tiing in third places.
Photographic Society of Sibu president Peter Lee said all the photographs submitted were of high standard and the judging process was tough.
“The photographs submitted captured the landscape, people and food of Sibu as the theme.
“We hope to organise more photographic events in Sarawak should we receive funding and grants from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, as we did for this event,” he said.
