Safwa Bhd boasts 33 women-friendly clinics within two years
KOTA BHARU: Safwa Berhad has become one of the fastest growing chain of healthcare services after successfully opening a network of 33 women-friendly clinics across the country in less than two years.
Its chief executive officer Dr Mohd Hakimi Zainudin said the first clinic was established in 2014, but after a rebranding exercise at the end of 2020, the company now runs a chain of medical and dental clinics, which are located in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Perak.
“This year after collaborating with several parties that have expertise in certain fields we have established the Afazea
Confinement Centre which is the first mother and child confinement centre at the east coast, which is supervised by obstetricians and gynecologists.
“In addition, Safwa Berhad also established an aesthetic centre, Lubov Laser & Aesthetics Centre at Mont Kiara Kuala Lumpur, as well as a MyDoctor platform which is a home consultation and nursing service, and a Vestibular Rehabilitation Centre managed by a neurocognitive physician.”
He said this to Bernama after the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and handover of Safwa Berhad share certificates, here on Saturday.
Dr Mohd Hakimi said also available is an ultrasound training centre which is managed by experts to train doctors and sonographers to be competent in providing medical imaging and radiological services
“Safwa Berhad has also established a partnership with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) to commercialise the results of research conducted by nutritionists from the university and among the products that have been produced are supplements to increase red blood cells in the body of expectant mothers,” he said.
He said Safwa chain of clinics are women and children friendly and almost all the attending doctors are women, adding that the concept was to provide comfort to women and to protect their modesty.
“Safwa clinics strive to be a onestop centre by providing almost all the services related to women’s health including antenatal and postnatal treatment, 2D to 5D ultrasound imagings, family planning consultation, fertility consultation and treatment as well as assessment and treatment of jaundice in babies,” he said.
He said Safwa Berhad aims to be listed on Bursa Malaysia within the next three years and fundraising for the third round was recently opened to individuals and companies interested in investing or becoming shareholders. He said the funding raised for the third round would be used to further expand the network of medical and dental clinics, confinement centres and to start a maternity centre.
