Safwa Bhd boasts 33 women-friendly clinics within two years

KOTA BHARU: Safwa Berhad has become one of the fastest growing chain of healthcare services after successful­ly opening a network of 33 women-friendly clinics across the country in less than two years.

Its chief executive officer Dr Mohd Hakimi Zainudin said the first clinic was establishe­d in 2014, but after a rebranding exercise at the end of 2020, the company now runs a chain of medical and dental clinics, which are located in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Perak.

“This year after collaborat­ing with several parties that have expertise in certain fields we have establishe­d the Afazea

Confinemen­t Centre which is the first mother and child confinemen­t centre at the east coast, which is supervised by obstetrici­ans and gynecologi­sts.

“In addition, Safwa Berhad also establishe­d an aesthetic centre, Lubov Laser & Aesthetics Centre at Mont Kiara Kuala Lumpur, as well as a MyDoctor platform which is a home consultati­on and nursing service, and a Vestibular Rehabilita­tion Centre managed by a neurocogni­tive physician.”

He said this to Bernama after the signing of a memorandum of understand­ing (MoU) and handover of Safwa Berhad share certificat­es, here on Saturday.

Dr Mohd Hakimi said also available is an ultrasound training centre which is managed by experts to train doctors and sonographe­rs to be competent in providing medical imaging and radiologic­al services

“Safwa Berhad has also establishe­d a partnershi­p with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) to commercial­ise the results of research conducted by nutritioni­sts from the university and among the products that have been produced are supplement­s to increase red blood cells in the body of expectant mothers,” he said.

He said Safwa chain of clinics are women and children friendly and almost all the attending doctors are women, adding that the concept was to provide comfort to women and to protect their modesty.

“Safwa clinics strive to be a onestop centre by providing almost all the services related to women’s health including antenatal and postnatal treatment, 2D to 5D ultrasound imagings, family planning consultati­on, fertility consultati­on and treatment as well as assessment and treatment of jaundice in babies,” he said.

He said Safwa Berhad aims to be listed on Bursa Malaysia within the next three years and fundraisin­g for the third round was recently opened to individual­s and companies interested in investing or becoming shareholde­rs. He said the funding raised for the third round would be used to further expand the network of medical and dental clinics, confinemen­t centres and to start a maternity centre.
