Fair weather forecast for polling day

KUALA LUMPUR: The weather on polling day for the 15th general election this Saturday is expected to be good in the morning in several states, according to the Malaysian Meteorolog­ical Department (MetMalaysi­a).

On its website, the department is forecastin­g no rain in the morning in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.

However, MetMalaysi­a is predicting thundersto­rms and rain in most states in the evening, especially on the East Coast states of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan as well as northern states namely Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak which would experience rain and thundersto­rms in the morning and evening.

Only Putrajaya is expected to have fair weather in the morning and evening, while Labuan will experience thundersto­rms in several areas in the morning and evening.

The weather for Sarawak on Saturday morning is fair but thundersto­rms are predicted to occur in one or two places in the interior of the state in the evening.

Sabah is expected to experience thundersto­rms in one or two places in the morning and evening.

The temperatur­e nationwide is expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius with a maximum of 33 degrees Celsius on that day.
