Covid-19: 34 pct increase in Epid Week 45 — SDMC
KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 616 new Covid-19 cases in Epidemiological (Epid) Week 45, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
This was a roughly 34 per cent increase compared to the 459 cases reported in the previous Epid Week.
“Of the 616 cases, 604 cases were either asymptomatic or displayed mild symptoms,” said SDMC in its weekly update released yesterday.
In the weekly update, the committee also revealed that one death from the coronavirus was recorded in Kuching.
The committee said Kuching continued to record the highest number of cases at 295, followed by Sibu (61), Miri (58), Bintulu (36), Samarahan (31), Bau (21), Kapit (19), Sarikei (15) and Serian (12).
Districts which recorded singledigit cases were Sri Aman, Lawas and Dalat at seven each; Betong (5), Lundu, Asajaya and Tatau (4 each); Limbang, Mukah, Simunjan and Pakan (3 each); Song, Daro, Beluru and Matu (2 each); and one case each in Lubok Antu, Bukit Mabong, Selangau and Kabong.
