PBB veep optimistic of GPS winning most, if not all, parliamentary seats in GE15

-

KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vicepresident Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah expresses his confidence of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) winning most, if not all, of the parliamentary seats in the state in this 15th general election (GE15).

He said such optimism was based on the coalition’s victory in winning 76 out of 82 seats in the 12th state election in December last year.

“We are confident, but not in a very arrogant way. We have gone through the state election last year, where we won 76 out of 82 seats due to the support rate of 92 per cent from the people at that time.

“I cannot comment much on Sabah or Peninsular Malaysia, but for Sarawak, I believe GPS will win big. We have 31 seats – if we win all of them, ‘Alhamdullilah’ (Praise be Allah).

“But I believe we will win almost all of the 31 seats,” he said at a press conference held a er the opening ceremony of the new National Archives of Malaysia (Arkib Negara) Sarawak building in Petra Jaya here yesterday.

At an event in Telaga Air Sunday, Premier Datuk Patingi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg had highlighted GPS’ target of making a clean sweep of all the 31 parliamentary seats in Sarawak this GE15, adding that the coalition would want to as many of its representatives to Putrajaya as possible.
