KPDNHEP to hold two-day Keluarga Malaysia Sale Carnival at Kapit Civic Centre

-

KAPIT: The Keluarga Malaysia Sale Carnival will be taking place on the car park area of the civic centre at Jalan Hospital here tomorrow and Thursday (Nov 16 to 17).

Organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumers Affairs (KPDNHEP) office here in collaboration with Keluarga Mart, the two-day bazaar will offer local residents various essential food items at subsidised prices.

According to KPDNHEP Kapit officer Englebert Inggath, prices of items being sold during the carnival are between 10 and 20 per cent lower than those in the market.

“The Keluarga Malaysia Sale Carnival is one of many government’s initiatives to help lessen the burden of the people, especially those from lowerincome group.

“This is a people-centric programme, where local consumers can buy food items and other household goods at cheaper prices, and enjoy great savings,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The Keluarga Malaysia Sale Carnival has become very popular, based on the encouraging reception to the previous ones held throughout this year including those run in Bletih New Township, as well as in a number of longhouses and villages in Song, Bukit Mabong and Pelagus.

Caretaker minister of domestic trade and consumers affairs Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi has been invited to officiate at the opening ceremony tomorrow (Nov 16), scheduled to commence at 10am.
