Missing fisherman found safe on beach

SIBU: A 70-year-old man was found safe a er he was earlier thought to have gone missing while fishing at sea.

Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said Camillus Benedict from Kampung Tellian Tengah had gone out around 4am on Sunday but failed to return in the a ernoon which was his usual time.

“Fishermen from the same village had seen Camillus about six nautical miles from Kuala Mukah around 9am before he went missing,” he said in a media statement.

He said the villagers then initiated an effort to locate Camillus but to no avail.

However, he was finally found safe at the beach of Kuala Sungai Kampung Penat around midnight.

Muhamad Rizal said the engine of Camillus’ boat had been damaged before the boat was finally swept ashore.
