School MRC event spreads awareness of food safety
KUCHING: The Malaysian Red Crescent of SJK Chung Hua No. 5 Kuching and SMK Bandar Kuching No. 1 recently held a Campsite Fun event.
As many as 50 members joined the flower decoration and food plating competition that took place during the event at SJK Chung Hua No. 5.
The objective of the competition was to spread awareness of food safety while focusing on food planning and preparation skills.
It also aimed to develop participants’ leadership qualities and self-confidence while providing guidance and knowledge of healthy food choices and the decision-making process involved.
Present were SJK Chung Hua No. 5 headmistress Chin Mui Ling, SMK Bandar Kuching No. 1 teacher-in-charge Liaw Bee Lian, and Malaysian Red Crescent Stampin Chapter deputy chairman Chew Kim Soon.
