KUALA LUMPUR: Caretaker defence minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein has urged Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) personnel to fulfil their responsibilities as early voters in conjunction with the 15th general election (GE15). He said every vote is crucial to ensure the country’s stability and prosperity.

“Each vote is important in determining the government for the next five years.

“Make the smart decision, pick the candidate and party with a proven track record as well as a good achievement, that is the fairest consideration,” he said in a video clip posted on Facebook page yesterday.

Hishammuddin, who is also the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Sembrong parliamentary seat, advised MAF members and their spouses to come out early to vote and maintain discipline during the voting process.

“Uphold the good name of MAF, prove that MAF is a good role model for the community,” he said.

On Sunday, Chief of Defence Force Gen Tan Sri Affendi Buang said a total of 146,737 MAF members and their spouses throughout the country are registered for early voting in GE15 today.

A total of 153 early voting centres have been gazetted by the Election Commission (EC) as early voting centres for MAF members and their spouses nationwide. — Bernama
