Nanta: GPS confident of winning 25-28 seats
MUKAH: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) secretary-general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi predicts the coalition will secure 25 to 28 parliamentary seats come Nov 19.
He said this is despite the view by GPS that all 31 parliamentary constituencies in Sarawak are ‘white’ areas.
“We admit that there are some seats that we consider as quite challenging for other GPS component parties to win.
“But we still have a few more days to make things be er,” he told reporters when met a er officiating at a community gathering at Balingian multipurpose hall, near here yesterday.
Although he did not state which of the 31 seats that GPS considered as ‘quite challenging’, Nanta said Mukah was one of the areas that the coalition was confident of winning.
Mukah incumbent Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib has been picked by GPS to defend the seat. She is being challenged by Pakatan Harapan’s Abdul Jalil Bujang.
