Lee: Mobile crane parked at roadside cause of traffic jam
MIRI: The major traffic congestion on Monday evening at Pujut flyover until South Lake and Vista Perdana traffic light junction was actually caused by a mobile crane parked at the roadside.
Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, in a press statement yesterday, said the investigation by Public Works Department (JKR) Miri found this to be the factor causing the major traffic congestion, and not because of the newly activated South Lake/Vista Perdana traffic light junction.
“According to the development plan, a permanent dual carriageway will be constructed when the new SPNB housing project starts.
“Thus, in order to access into Vista Perdana, Naim, the housing area’s developer, will construct a temporary access connecting to Pan Borneo Highway,” he said.
The temporary access road will be completed before Christmas this year, he added.
