MIRI: The 15th General Election (GE15) early voting process for Sibuti parliamentary constituency saw a total of 746 police and military personnel cast their votes at Miri District Police Headquarters (IPD).

The 20th Ba alion Royal Malay Regiment of Sri Miri Camp contributed the most with 696 early voters, while the remaining 50 votes were from the Royal Malaysia Police.

Sibuti incumbent, also Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Sibuti candidate Lukanisman Awang Sauni was present at the IPD. Also present was Pakatan Harapan candidate Zulhaidah Suboh.

Meanwhile, Lukanisman told reporters the GPS election machinery is prepared for the possibility of floods in Sibuti on polling day.

“It has been raining heavily these past few days, which has caused flooding at Bungai area in Bekenu.

“I hope the Election Commission is also well prepared for the possibility of flooding, in preparing polling stations as well as the process of transporting ballot boxes,” he said.

Also present at the early voting process was Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu. Lukanisman is being challenged by Zulhaidah and Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak’s Bobby William this election.
