Great loss for Lubok Antu if constituents choose opposition — Harden

-

SRI AMAN: It would be a great loss for the Lubok Antu constituents should they choose the opposition parties to win in this coming 15th general election (GE15).

In voicing this out, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis said should this happen, then Lubok Antu would miss out on many development projects.

“In Engkilili, for example, the people there are le behind because the representative is from the opposition. “Therefore, think about determining your direction that can guarantee development.

“Choose GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) candidates who have proven in bringing development to their areas,” he said at a ‘Majlis Program Mesra Rakyat’ at Rumah Kujat Tandang in Ijok Ulu, Engkilili recently.

Harden, who is Simanggang assemblyman, also called upon everyone to exercise their democratic rights this Saturday.

Organised by the Lubok Antu Office of the Community Development Department (Kemas), the event atRumah Kujat included a health talk, ‘gotong-royong’ (work party) and presentation of food baskets from Kemas to 12 villagers.

Also at the programme, Harden announced the approval of RM10,000 under his Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant for 2023 for the longhouse’s security and development commi ee (JKKK); RM3,000 for its women’s bureau; and RM5,000 for Kemas Lubok Antu.
