Man feared missing in Kuala Baram forest emerges safely

LIMBANG: A 45-year-old man who was feared to have gone missing in a forest near a landfill site at Batu 1, Kuala Baram in Miri on Tuesday a ernoon managed to come out from the forest safely at night.

Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) acting chief Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee said they were notified of the incident at 7.42pm and deployed a team of three from its Lutong station to the scene.

“The victim’s family members sought Bomba’s help a er they failed to contact the victim, who had gone to the landfill site to look for scrap metal.

“As the rescue team was on its way to the scene, they were informed that the victim had emerged from the forest on his own,” he said.

Upon arriving at the scene, the Bomba team confirmed that the victim was indeed safe and without injuries, he added.
