Malaysians in fact live in peace, harmony, says Kit Siang

-

In reality, Malaysians are actually living in peace and harmony respecting each other but not for some political parties, said DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang.

According to him, during his nationwide campaigning for Pakatan Harapan in several states, he found there is no hatred among the people of various races.

“I don’t see any anti-Malay, anti-Chinese, anti-Indian, anti-Dayak, anti-Kadazan sentiment, the people are very tolerant and very sensible.

“But every election you find some political parties want to create a false impression, that the races and religions are threatened, where does that threat come from?

“It is the political parties, they want to create the impression that the Malay, Islam and other races and other religions are under threat. We are living in peace and harmony,” Lim pointed out during a press conference here yesterday.

Lim said Malaysia is a confluence of great civilisation and people should be better and leverage on the values and virtues of this great civilisation.

But he said without good governance, with rampant corruption and abuse of power by the previous leaders in the government for the past 60 years, the country was unable to progress smoothly.

“Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional talk about stability and prosperity, how can you build stability and prosperity when there is corruption and no good governance.

“If you don’t talk about good governance, it cannot be done, it is just nonsense,” he said.

Therefore, he called on all Malaysians to come out and exercise their rights to vote for Pakatan Harapan on the polling day, together fighting against corruption in order to have good governance.
