Uniten professor recognised as ‘most influential scientist’

KUALA LUMPUR: Universiti Tenaga Malaysia (Uniten) electrical engineering expert Prof Dr M A Hannan has been recognised as the most influential scientist in the world by Clarivate Analytics, based on the Highly Cited Researchers 2022 report.

Uniten said in a statement that the recognition was based on the publication of his significant research in the field of renewable energy engineering as well as being listed in the top one per cent of citations in a period of 11 years from January 2011 to December 2021.

“Prof Dr M A Hannan has consistently published 255 articles in the Web of Science index with a total of 7,911 citations.

“He is one of the greatest researchers from the 69 countries who received the recognition,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, Uniten ViceChancellor Prof Dr Noor Azuan Abu Osman said the success puts Uniten on the global stage in scientific research excellence and brings pride to the university and the country. — Bernama
