SIBU: Farley Supermarket, in collaboration with Sibu Municipal Council (SMC), has put up the ‘I Love Sibu’ signage at Jalan Salim.

Farley Group director Eijing Lau said the aim of putting up the signage was to improve and brighten up the commercial area.

“Farley is constantly seeking ways to improve the community’s overall image andquality of life,” he said at the signage lighting ceremony held Thursday night.

SMC chairman Clarence Ting, together with Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) deputy chairman Wong Ching Yong jointly performed the signage lighting-up ceremony.

Over the years, Lau said they had initiated a variety of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects such as repairing potholesin order to maintain a good condition of the area for the community.

“This area is suitable as it has facilities such as the 1Malaysia Clinic, police beat base, public washrooms and CCTV covering the surrounding area,” he commented on the chosen location.

Lau thanked Ting for taking his time to officiate the lightingup ceremony.

“I would like to thank SMC chairman Clarence Ting for coming and I believe under his leadership, Sibu can hit another milestone and ultimately Sibu folks will enjoy a better standard of living,” he said.
