Palliative Care public forum, workshop Nov 26, 27

MIRI: A ‘Palliative Care Public Forum and Workshop’ will be held on Nov 26 and 27 to spread awareness on palliative care and hospice among the public and health care workers.

Jointly organised by Palliative Care Association of Miri (PCAM), Miri Hospital and Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) Sarawak, the event will be held at two different locations, namely Bintang Megamall and Miri Hospital’s conference room.

The programme at Bintang Megamall, from 2pm to 5pm, is open to members of the public free of-charge. There will be an introductory of palliative care and PCAM as well as palliative services at Miri Hospital.

The second day at Miri Hospital’s conference room from 8am to 4pm is for admittance of doctors, allied health and volunteers with a minimum fee of RM50, RM20 and RM10 per pax respectively.

Among the speakers at the public forum and workshop are deputy national advisor of Palliative Medicine Dr Yeat Choi Ling; Miri Hospital consultant psychiatrist Dr Ravivarma Rao and clinical nurse specialist of Melbourne City Mission Palliative Care, Australia,Angela Chia
