-

SHAH ALAM: Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) 15th general election (GE15) viewing event at the Glenmarie Golf and Hotel Resort here became livelier as news of a clean sweep in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu under PAS, together with victories in several other places were announced.

A few hours earlier, there was not much activity with party leaders nowhere to be seen. The giant screen in view only played GE15 live results from Astro Awani and MyUndi.

Later, more supporters and party members started arriving and when PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and deputy chairman Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang won their respective seats in Pagoh and Marang with a big majority, the crowd started cheering. Abdul Hadi subsequently announced during a press conference at PAS’ headquarters in Kuala Lumpur that it was confident of forming the government.

It was understood that Abdul Hadi and other top PAS leaders were making their way to Shah Alam to join leaders including Muhyiddin and PN secretarygeneral Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, who were already in the coalition’s war room located at the hotel.
