Lukanisman retains Sibuti with 11,745-vote majority

BEKENU: Sibuti incumbent Lukanisman Awang Sauni has successful­ly defended his Sibuti seat with a majority of 11,745 votes.

Lukanisman defeated challenger­s Zulhaidah Suboh of Pakatan Harapan and Bobby William of Parti Bangsa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS).

The PBB deputy youth chief polled 22,150 votes against Zulhaidah’s 10,405 votes and Bobby’s 1,361 votes.

Returning Officer Siti Rohanie Yusuf announced the official results at 11.50pm at Bekenu community hall.

In the 2018 election, Lukanisman won the seat with a majority of 3,676 votes, defeating Jemat Panjang of PKR and Zulaihi Bakar of PAS.

Lukanisman polled 12,214 votes while Jemat got 8,538 votes and Zulaihi (1,617 votes).
