BINTULU: More than 100,000 eligible voters in Bintulu Parliamentary constituency cast their ballots yesterday and among the crowd were 15th general election (GE15) first-time voters.

At Sekolah Agama Majlis Islam Sarawak near here, two siblings were seen taking selfies outside the polling centre after casting their votes.

Ting Yie Wei, 31, while showing her inked index finger, expressed her relief after having exercised her democratic right as a Malaysian citizen.

“This election proves that youth voice matters in building the nation,” she said.

Meanwhile, her young sister Yie Chee, 26, who was all thrilled to be a part of GE15 said: “This is my first time voting, and I feel so excited that I play a big role in deciding for Malaysia’s future.

“I hope and pray our Malaysia would get better in order for us to have a good life,” she added.
