PBM will support coalition that can form government, says Larry Sng

-

KUCHING: Despite only winning one out of five contested seats in the 15th General Election, Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) would support whichever coalition that could form the government, said its president Datuk Larry Sng.

The Julau incumbent, who is PBM’s sole MP, said the party would lend its support to ensure the nation’s political stability.

“We want to ensure that the new government will have political stability, so that the country can move forward and focus on important issues such as the economy and addressing the interest of East Malaysians,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.

Sng won the seat with a majority of 1,340 votes after polling 9,159 votes, defeating Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum in a four-cornered fight.

Salang polled 7,819 votes while independent candidate Elly Lawai Ngalai garnered 5,224 votes. Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak’s Susan George managed only 335 votes.
