Two longhouse village security and development commi ees (JKKKs) in Baleh received a new outboard engine each, courtesy of Baleh assemblyman Nicholas Kudi Jantai.

The recipients were JKKK Rumah Ukau and JKKK Rumah Minggat, who had wri en to Kudi to request for the engines during the assemblyman’s previous visit to the two longhouses.

“The engines are for the residents’ daily use such as travelling to nearby longhouses or their farms, or to transport pupils to SK Nanga Bawai,” Kudi said in a brief message read by Tuai Rumah Gare Timbang.

Gare represented the assemblyman in handing over the outboard engines to the chie ains of the two longhouses, at the Baleh Service Centre at Jalan Selirik here.

Kudi also reminded the residents to take good care of the outboard engines to ensure that it would benefit the longhouse folks for a long time.
