Cops: 3,483 police reports on GE15 received since Nov 4

LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has received a total of 3,483 reports related to the 15th general election (GE15) from Nov 4 to Monday.

PDRM GE15 operations director Datuk Seri Hazani Ghazali said of the total, Kedah recorded the highest number of reported offences at 453, followed by Selangor (449), Pahang (433), Kelantan (432); Perak (335) and Johor (304).

A total of 236 reports were received in Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur (224); Perlis (214); Sabah (120); Sarawak (88); Penang (85); Terengganu (63) and Melaka (47), he said in a statement yesterday.

“A total of 515 investigat­ion papers have been opened; 180 cases have been referred to the deputy public prosecutor; six charged and four convicted,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hazani, who is also Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director, said six investigat­ion papers were opened Monday involving two in Kelantan and one each in Perak, Melaka, Johor and Sabah. — Bernama
