BCCK celebrates upcoming festivals with launch of X’mas, NY Eve, CNY promo

Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) celebrates the upcoming festive season with the launch of its Christmas, New Year’s Eve and 2023 Chinese New Year promotions featuring a grand display of Christmas and Chinese New Year extravagan­ce.

The launch yesterday was witnessed by BCCK chairperso­n Datuk Raziah Mahmud, executive director Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot, board members and senior management of BCCK.

The venue is adorned with seasonal decoration­s and lavish food display for both The Isthmus Christmas 2022 and Chinese New Year 2023 menus.

BCCK chief financial officer Joseph Chung said the BCCK’s Isthmus Christmas and Chinese New Year celebratio­n are going to be bigger and better than before, following months of detailed planning.

“Our creative culinary team has crafted the festive menu to include traditiona­l festive ingredient­s, as well as the all-time local favourites.

“The responses have been favourable for both festive celebratio­ns in the past and we want to thank all parties for their continuous support of our convention centre. So, be sure to secure your seats in advance to truly indulge in our celebratio­n treats,” he said.

BCCK, in its press statement said for the Isthmus Christmas celebratio­ns, it will comprise a three-course Christmas Set Menu available for the whole of December except on Dec 24, 25 and 31.

It offers walnut tomato la’soupe as the starter, delicacies like roulade de turkey, 360 minute beef or salmon nistuke as main courses, along with mouth-watering dessert, chocolate prune cake with gula apong salted caramel. Christmas Set Menu is priced at RM95 nett.

There will be Christmas Eve Buffet dinner on the Dec 24 and Christmas Day Buffet lunch on Dec 25 priced at RM95 nett for adults through online booking and RM110 nett for walk-ins, with children between 5-12 years old priced at RM50 nett for both online and walk-in.

The buffet offers a vast selection to choose from, with its fresh salad bar and hot tureen of beancurd and crabmeat chowder, to the ‘chilled on ice’ selection, smoked station, carvery station, pizza station, on-the-spot wok section, as well as a selection from Eastern and Western inspired dishes.

Throughout the buffet, diners can witness BCCK chef in action at the carvery station, where they will carve and prepare delicious meats such as turkey stuffed with chestnut mushroom duxelles, and roasted beef striploin, along with a selection of black pepper, cranberry, giblet, and mint sauce.

For those with a sweet tooth, sweet Christmas indulgence­s such as gula apong creme brulee, traditiona­l Christmas yule logs, Christmas stollens, Christmas cinnamon pie, as well as gingerbrea­d cookies, assorted cakes and mini tartlets can be enjoyed.

Diners can also choose to celebrate the closing of the year and bid goodbye to 2022 at The Raintree Restaurant with the New Year Eve Buffet dinner on Dec 31.

It is priced RM95 nett for adults through online booking and RM110 nett for walk-ins, with children between 5-12 years old at RM50 nett for both online and walk-in.

For those looking to spend some quality time at home, there are festive cheers available for takeaway; whole roasted turkey is available for RM488 nett; while the all-time Christmas favorites, roast lamb leg is available at RM388 nett and roasted beef striploin at only RM588 nett.

There is also a newly-introduced takeaway menu for this Christmas, namely classic beef lasagna (3kg) priced at RM108 nett, and boneless chicken casserole at RM88 nett.

The Raintree Restaurant also accepts walk-ins for The Isthmus Christmas holiday feast; however, it is subject to availabili­ty. All festive takeaways are available from Dec 12 to 28, and it would require two days of advance booking.

For Chinese New Year, celebrants can toss their way into prosperity in the Year of Rabbit with the auspicious grand reunion buffet dinner on Jan 21 next year with only RM98 nett for adults and RM48 for children, between the ages of 5- 12 years old, when booked online.

Walk-ins are priced RM110 nett for adults and RM60 nett for children.

This auspicious buffet includes an assortment of stalls offering such as roasted chicken, roasted duck, chicken and beef satay, roasted lamb with nasi briyani, Sarawak laksa, Sarawak kolo mee and Taiwan fried dumplings.

Hot Items include favourites such as stir fry prawns with Mongolian sauce, braised fish maw, beef tendon with leek, green mussels with chili, lime and Thai sauce, stir fry lamb with laksa paste, Beijing green noodle with minced chicken mushroom ragout and many more. Traditiona­l desserts like mandarin oranges and pineapple tarts are accompanie­d by an assortment of traditiona­l Chinese New Year goodies like kuih sepit, Chinese red bean pancake.

For Chinese New Year Lunch and Dinner Set menu, which will take place from Jan 22 to Feb 5, bookings must be made on or before Jan 17, 2023.

For just RM888 nett for a table of 10 diners, kickstart the meal with BCCK Prosperity Seabass Umai Yee Sang, and savour festive classics such as red braised five spice boneless chicken with pickled lettuce and black mushroom, steamed tiger garoupa with chicken essence and leek, baked prawn with Lemongrass and dried shrimp and finish the auspicious meal with chilled lemongrass jelly with aloe vera syrup and rambutan pineapple cocktail.

The BCCK Chinese New Year prosperity yee sang takeaway offers two types of yee sang: prosperity seabass umai yee sang or traditiona­l yee sang, with options of medium or large serving sizes from as low as RM38 nett.

All food is prepared according to strict requiremen­ts and hygiene standards according to BCCK’s ISO 22000:2005 Food Management Systems, Malaysian Standard 1480:2007 Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) System.
