Bomba’s swift response gets company’s thumbs up

Tropics City is deeply appreciati­ve of the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel from the Tabuan Jaya, Batu Lintang and Petra Jaya stations in acting swiftly and efficientl­y within 10 minutes to put out the fire at its constructi­on site in Jalan Song recently.

“We are grateful for the exemplary service rendered by the Bomba personnel in their prompt action in containing the fire and bringing the whole incident under control, and also to the police personnel who acted speedily and effectivel­y in the traffic control of the whole area,” it said in a statement yesterday.

During an appreciati­on ceremony at the Bomba headquarte­rs here yesterday, Bomba Sarawak deputy director Tiong Ling Hii mentioned that on their part, it is important to arrive at a fire rescue scene quickly.

“Time is gold, because a fire can spread and destroy property or goods in minutes,” he said.

Also present at the appreciati­on ceremony was Tropics City executive director Wong Pak Kiong, who stated that he really appreciate­d and was impressed by Bomba’s fast action and response.

“Because of their efficiency, the fire was quickly brought under control and eventually put out safely.

“We are also thankful that our constructi­on project is located in a strategic location that enabled the prompt arrival of the rescue services from the different Bomba stations, and our building more than adequately complied with the requiremen­ts of the authoritie­s to enable easy access for the Bomba personnel’s speedy and efficient handling of the incident,” Wong said.

The company recorded their deepest thanks and appreciati­on to Tiong for being personally present at the site during the incident and rendering his assistance and instructio­ns.
