Sibuti folk need continuous transformation agenda
The people of Sibuti need continuous transformation agenda to bring about major changes to the constituency’s landscape.
Dayak Teresang Association chairman Ugik Jalit said he wants to see Sibuti also playing a role in stimulating the local economy to improve the socioeconomic standard of its people.
“On behalf of the association, we congratulate Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni for retaining the seat with a bigger majority in the just-concluded 15th general election. We hope that he will continue to bring progress and development to all of Sibuti,” he said when contacted yesterday.
Ugik, who runs a food stall in Taman Tunku, also wanted Lukanisman and other Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) MPs to continue fighting to restore the rights of the state in parliament.
“In addition to continuing the infrastructure development agenda in Sarawak, we also need to fight together to restore Sarawak’s rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) that have been eroded through the years.
He also stressed the need to improve internet connectivity in every village and longhouse in Sibuti to, among others, help students in their learning process.
As a resident of Taman Tunku under the Sibuti parliamentary constituency, he also felt there was a need to increase and upgrade the existing facilities including installing automated teller machines in the Taman Tunku area whose population is rising.
