Firemen save a male driver pinned in 4WD

KUCHING: A man was extricated from his pickup truck following a single-vehicle crash near a brick factory in Siburan, Jalan Kuching-Serian yesterday afternoon.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said the driver was pinned to his seat after his vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a road divider.

Rescuers from the Serian and Siburan fire stations used special tools to free the victim and later handed him over to medical personnel from Serian Hospital.

The victim was said to be conscious and suffered a head injury.

Firefighte­rs continued to clear the area from the accident debris and wrapped up their rescue operation at 3.15pm after ensuring the area was safe for other road users.
