Society chairman Kapitan Kong Cheak He and committee members visited the victim who only wished to be known as Yap at his house at Taman Hijau, Jalan Padang Sukan here on Tuesday to hand over some cash assistance.

According to Kong, the donation drive was a collective effort from Society members to help alleviate the plight of the self-employed carpenter.

Che Quan Khor Moral Uplifting Society had also distributed food aid to the less fortunate and also to families who had lost their jobs during the pandemic, he informed.

The Society, Kong added, has also ‘adopted’ five students from the low-income families, where these students are to be provided with stationery and food assistance on a regular basis.
