One-two finish for ABAS in Premier Cup

KUCHING: Amateur Tenpin Bowling Association of Sarawak (ABAS) Team 2 beat 35 other teams to lift the Premier Cup of the Sarawak International Open Bowling Championships at Megalanes Sarawak, Emart Batu Kawa on Tuesday.

The team comprising Mohd Zuhayr Redza Noor Azrul, Ethan Damien Goh Chen Ming, Melvin Gilbert Gimang Tingau, Dayang Yumi Azreen and Cornelius Aldhem felled 1,349 pins over six games to walk away with RM2,000.

ABAS Team 3 comprising Abner Loo Chun Lik, Daniel Tan Yan Han, Andrea Tan Tze Shuen, Syaidatul Afifah and Mohd Danish Jeehan completed the one-two finish for ABAS when they registered a total of 1,288 pins to receive RM1,000.

The third place winners were Izz Naqiuddin Putera Islahuddin, Mahadzir, Mohd Bakti, Wan Muhammad Zariff Nazmi Zakaria and Muhammad Nur Aiman Muhammad Khairuddin of FND EMPIRE with a score of 1,273 pins to pocket RM500.

Some 280 bowlers from 11 countries are taking part in the five-day competition that ends on Nov 26.
