Bushfire razes open space near army camp
A bushfire ravaged about an acre of open space at Jalan Miri Airport here Wednesday.
Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) acting chief Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee said eight firefighters from the Miri Central station were deployed to the scene, located 10km away, after receiving a call at 4.33pm.
“Upon arrival, the team found a bushfire near an army camp. The team proceeded to manually put out the fire,” he said.
The operation ended at 5.02pm.
