Jun Foo takes lead at tenpin bowling c’ships

Chong Jun Foo of ABAS continues his hot form on the second day of the Sarawak Internatio­nal Open Tenpin Bowling Championsh­ip at Megalanes Sarawak, Emart Batu Kawa yesterday.

He blazed the lanes with lines of 211, 234, 244, 278 and 279 over five games to register 1,246 pins in Block 2 qualifying for a total of 2,491 pins to grab the lead by 51 pins.

In Wednesday’s Block 1 qualifying, Jun Foo was trailing the leader national youth bowler Megat Zaqrul Haiqal Megat

Zairudin by 11 pins.

Megat is now in second place with 2,440 pins while another national bowler Mohammad Hafiz Zainuddin claimed third spot with 2,371 pins.

Another Sarawakian bowler Abner Loo Chun Lik, who represente­d Unimas, occupied the fourth spot with 2,344 pins, followed by national youth bowler Airel Amri Suhaimi in fifth position.

Abner is leading the Classified qualificat­ion with 2,264 pins and trailing him by 28 pins is Melvin Gilbert Gimang Tingau of Megalanes Sarawak while Nur Aina Kamalia Abdul Ayub of ABAS is third on 2,189 pins whereas the fourth and fifth positions are occupied by Adelia Nur Irwan Syazalee (2,188) and Mohd Zuhayr Redza Noor Azrul of ABAS (2,185).

As for the U25 qualifying Megat Zaqrul leads the field of 82 bowlers with 2,440 pins and 126 pins behind him in second place is Abner Loo while in third to fifth spots are Airel Amri (2,314), Melvin Gilbert (2297) and Alyaa Addini Zulamri (2,250) respective­ly.
