Kuching to host 3rd BIMP-EAGA TVET confab March 8, 9
KUCHING: The 3rd Bimp-Eaga TVET Conference will be held in Kuching on March 8 and 9 next year.
Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions (Sarawak Skills) executive director Hallman Sabri said the conference themed ‘TVET to Drive Innovation and Talent Development’ is jointly organised by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD), the Brunei–Indonesia–Malaysia– Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) and Sarawak Skills.
It is estimated that about 300 delegates from Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei and Indonesia are expected to attend the conference. Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to declare openthe conference at Pullman Hotel, here.
Hallman added the conference would bring together major stakeholders who will be contributing to the ongoing transformation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Various speakers who are experts, practitioners and thought leaders from a broad spectrum of academia, industry and government, will share their perspectives on various topics under four sub-themes, namely Innovation and Technology, Human Resource Management and the Way Forward, Green TVET, and Strengthening Partnerships Among BIMP-EAGA TVET and HEIs.
“This will enable delegates to obtain first-hand information on the issues that matter, and the importance of contributing to TVET’s ongoing transformation to meet or even exceed humanity’s current and future needs,” he said.
Registration fees for the conference is RM 960 per delegate (normal rate), which is HRD Corp claimable. Those who register before Dec 30, 2022, will be eligible for the Early Bird Rate of RM860 per delegate.
Meanwhile, students (secondary school, college and university students) enjoy a special student rate (RM 380 per student).
