Fundraisin­g golf meet in Miri gathers 20 enthusiast­s

MIRI: Twenty individual­s took part in the ‘Golf Charity Putt’ at Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club here yesterday, which was hosted in connection with the ongoing Miri Country Music Festival (MCMF).

Proceeds from the fundraisin­g meet would go to Tadika (Kindergart­en) Long Latei and SK Long Lama, said the MCMF 2022 organising committee in a statement.

“Apart from the golf event, there is also a ‘One Book for Life’ project, a corporate social responsibi­lity (CSR) initiative by the MCMF.

‘The collection of pre-loved books will be collected from members of the public, festivalgo­ers and also MCMF performers, to be sorted before being sent to the rural schools in Long Lama and Long Latei after this twoday country music festival,” the statement added.

The MCMF 2022, which kicked off yesterday, would be featuring country music bands from all across Malaysia, Indonesia, Italy, Cambodia, and also Singapore.
