SMK Lopeng Tengah awards cocurricul­ar achievers

MIRI: Six outstandin­g students of SMK Lopeng Tengah yesterday received their cocurricul­ar excellence awards from Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts I Datuk Sebastian Ting.

Ting, who was given the honour to present the awards, praised the award recipients and all other students of SMK Lopeng Tengah for their hard work and dedication, despite all the challenges during the Covid19 pandemic.

“Not forgetting, teachers and parents who have given all their support in making sure students are able to catch up with their studies and maintain a good health,” Ting said.

Eva Lee Ee En of 5I received an award for her excellent participat­ion in Malaysian Red Crescent Club (BSMM); Veronica Sim Xiau Ting of 5I for her active involvemen­t in the Chinese Language Club; and Quinn Ayyasy Rihaiedie of 5D for active participat­ion in Tenpin Bowling Sports.

Joshua Tie Hong En, on the other hand, was awarded the `Anugerah Bintang Badan Beruniform’; Wan Irfan Hakimi Wan Mohd Nisal with the `Anugerah Kelab dan Persatuan’ and Kezia Kyren Kennedy the `Anugerah Sukan dan Permainan’.

Also present were SMK Lopeng Tengah principal Yew Kok Wing, chairman of the school’s Parent-Teacher Associatio­n Awang Azmi Awang Morshidi and deputy Dr Norsarihan Ahmad.
